When I was in middle school, we somehow found a series of books on cassette from a company in California called\u00a0Jabberwocky<\/em>.<\/p>\n

We listened to Hans Christen Anderson (The Tinder Box), Edgar Allen Poe (Fall of the House of Usher), Oscar Wilde (The Nightingale and the Rose), and Lewis Carroll (Alice in Wonderland).<\/p>\n

I still have my cassette copy of Alice in Wonderland<\/em>, though I digitized it long ago with other audiobooks I loved a kid. It’s what inspired me to make my own audiobooks\u2014<\/a> the works of Jabberwocky were filled with great voice acting, incidental music, and immersive sound design.<\/p>\n

I recently thought of them, and on a whim searched eBay \u2014 lo and behold, there was a pair of cassettes: Alice in Wonderland<\/em>, and Through the Looking Glass!<\/em><\/p>\n

I’ve never heard the latter, but it’s the same group of voice actors. Listening will bring just as much joy as the other.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
