The air blew by softly as I watched the on and off of the light, waiting for it to match up with he songs of the crickets, but the little critters kept changing their rhythms, a bunch of amateur musicians. THere were moments where it felt so close to being a perfect symphony of light and sound, but their negotiations never ceased as they seemed to fight over who should be the loudest.
Meanwhile the sun substitute kept dimly and dutifully issuing its morse code, quietly blaring out a monotonous message of SSSSSSSSSSSSS. I could sit here for hours, in the mostly dark, the mostly quiet. It’s kind of amazing how much you can can hear in midst of such little sound. But you have to listen.
